Wow!  What a Christmas and New Year.  When I looked up it was February and the 2009 Caper was still in the camera.  Well I finally got a moment to work on it this weekend when we were snowed in for a bit...so without further ado...

This years caper brings back an old foe and brings us a cameo from a professional actor (can you guess who?).  Take a gander and let us know what you think.

My parents gave me an early birthday present and I got blown away.

I got 2 Tickets to the final 4, and 2 tickets to the championship game.

I screamed at the top of my lungs. It was the best day of my life. I hugged my Mom and Dad so hard. I got so shocked. My heart was beating really fast. I give a shout out to My brother for letting me have the tickets for my birthday and not getting mad. I also give a shout out to My Mom + Dad and Amy + Jim Oppat.

Here is the video of me opening up my awesome present.

(ed. note:  The title of the video and language are a bit inappropriate captured the reaction perfectly so I had to use it.)

doerrstop welcome
More Doerr's Than You!

Yeah.  That's right.  If you don't think so then bring it on. And Doerrstop.com is the place to find out everything you've always wanted to know about the Doerr family (and probably way, way more).

Take a look around and let us know what you think of the new site.

The first thing you'll notice is that we've moved our blogs up and under their own link and section.  Now you can jump right to your favorite author or hit the Blogs link and see them all.  And we've set up subscription feeds so you can subscribe to one or all of the feeds in your favorite RSS reader.  Just look for the Feed link Subscribe at the bottom of any of the blog pages.

I've updated the micro-blog feed from twitter.com and kept it in the right hand column of the homepage. This allows me to quick post from anywhere I have cell or wi-fi from the comfort of my iphone.  It's great to find out what's going on recently for items that don't really need a full post and it allows me to upload an associated photo from the road.

As always, you can check out our world famous Movies section to watch our latest creation.  Or you can take a step back in time and watch some of the earlier films which were instrumental in helping shape the careers of the talented Doerrstop cast members.

Next you can head over our Photo section where we'll post snapshots of our adventures.  And since there is always something going on at the Doerrstop, you're likely to find something new.

One other change we've made is the ability to customize the color scheme and background of doerrstop.com.  If you love the new design and color scheme, enjoy, but if you want your own colors and background, simply click on the color chooser above and tweak away.  I've even set up a few of my favorite color schemes for you.  Can I interest you in the Sparty light or Trojan theme?  :)  And your palette will be remembered each time you visit so you can always view doerrstop.com the way you want to.

I hope the new design makes it easier for you to access all the fun content we have for you at doerrstop.com.  Let us know what you think.

Isn't this random?

I say what?

Much later than usual but the Christmas Caper has been posted to htttp://www.doerrstop.com/ Enjoy and let us know what you think.

Listening to NPR Tell Me More and I think my friend from high school, Lester Spence is part of the barbershop. Very cool.

SNOW! And we were swimming in our pool on Turkey day... http://yfrog.com/3loqhxtj

Just heard from Mitchell and Cheryl that the Wakeland band placed 4th in the Texas state band competition in San Antonio. Amazing!
